Awards at Zero or ODBC error messages when launching HRD Logbook? or odbcji32.dll not found
Last Updated 2 months ago

If, after running the Migration Release of HRD, you find all your Award values are set to 0 (zero) or you have an issue when the Logbook is loading the error comes up : ODBCJI32.DLL not loading or something to that effect  or   "ODBC Microsoft Access installation problem"
Or when you  shut down the logbook it says "the operating currently not configured to run this application"

Test after each step

Reasons for issues are  either you have recently installed Microsoft Office or a similar application has killed off the 32 bit ODBC driver, or a windows update has done the same thing

Registry key tweak

Run regedit and navigate to HKCU\Software\ODBC\ODBC.INI\ODBC Data Sources

Note the “Microsoft Access Driver lines - (*.mdb, *.accdb)”.

Edit each line that has the accdb part mentioned.
Your registry will show a line for each database on your system. - change them back to the original “Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)”
remove the *.accdb part   so each line shows  Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb)  NOT Microsoft Access Driver (*.mdb, *.accdb)  ensure the comma is also removed

Access 2007 Runtime (32 Bit)

Some users have reported that they have had to install the Access 2007 runtime.

File Repair

If you have recently installed or updated a Microsoft Office 64 bit suite, then it may be possible to do a repair of the MS Access components from Add/Remove Programs , or re-install MS Access runtimes from the links below.

Access 2010 Runtime download (32 Bit)

Download the 32 bit version  - AccessRuntime.exe
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/download/details.aspx?id=10910

If this does not install  because the system says you have MS Office 64 bit installed then

Create a new desktop shortcut  (Right click on the desktop > new > shortcut, name it CMD  and the command is CMD.EXE)

Right click on the shortcut, select run as administrator (to install software needs admin rights)

Now Change directory to where you have downloaded the file to (CD c:\users\\downloads\   or wherever you have saved the AccessRuntime.exe file)

Paste in the following command  -  AccessRuntime.exe /passive

Database replacement

Back up your log database,  delete the database (from Manager > also delete data source)  and restore your XML data to a new one - see the PDF's below.
